We believe that helping the people of Haiti requires empowering them and encouraging them to take control of their own recovery and learn to take care of some of their medical needs. Health education can play a crucial part in this regard. From non-disaster-related medical issues plaguing the land to injuries during disasters, many medical emergencies can be contained with the right approach and supplies. And this approach requires educating the locals on ways to deal with medical emergencies.
